My students live in a rural community of about 7,000 people which is located in the foothills of California. This agricultural area supplies the world with milk, oranges, cotton and cattle, just to name a few. Many of the parents are farm laborers. The students in our school are 100% free lunch eligible because of the economic status of their parents. Most of the students come to school with the clothes on their backs and a backpack. The school provides the rest of the supplies.
