My goal is to give my first graders the chance to become the best readers they can possibly be. These alphabet tiles and accessories will allow me to create a more engaging hands on learning environment that will allow them to make the connection between spoken words and creating those words. With the classroom materials I have now I am only able to work with two students at a time. With a full classroom set of supplies I could work with the whole class at the same time. The tiles be able to manipulate and create words from the tiles and place them onto the boards. The activity would be an every day where the students would be hearing a word, creating that word and then reading the word. Currently in this pandemic there has been a huge surplus of students with delayed reading skills, this activity would provide them with the additional support they need in a hands on manner that they would love.
