My students love to do centers and work with different types of manipulatives. When they are engaged in activities that they enjoy and that are self directed, they are able to take ownership of their learning and display more on-task behaviors. Self-correcting learning palettes will allow my students opportunities to practice skills in an independent or group format in a fun and meaningful way. Students benefit from continued practice of previously taught skills not only to help retain and master skills, but recoup skills. When working in groups, my students also benefit from having opportunities to practice important social and emotional skills.
