The learning goal for this project has a three-pronged overarching desire: one, overcoming fear through engaging in a new challenge. Two, relieving mental stress through becoming a member of a team, enjoying the tranquility of the outdoors, and decompressing through exercise. Finally, learning to understand, take responsibility for, and engage in their physical health in an exciting and engaging activity: soccer. The ultimate desire of this goal is to ensure that all students are served daily in a methodology that is designed to engage, challenge, and educate the whole child. The expected outcome of this project is that students will be stimulated mentally, intellectually, emotionally, and physically through learning a new and exciting sport. There is a great interest in soccer, especially those who have not previously engaged in team sports; however, we currently do not possess the equipment necessary to field a team. I will use these valuable financial resources to purchase soccer balls, shin guards, cleats, and training aids to allow students an additional outdoor activity and the accompanying opportunity to have a sense of belonging by becoming a vital part of the school's athletic community.
