First grade students crave in-person learning to excel in their academics. To ensure my students academic needs are being met, we do most of our learning together on my class carpet. There have been a lot of instances where my students cannot focus because of interruptions of classmates being in their square primarily because our class carpet is entirely too small for my first graders to adequately have enough personal space. I need to find a bigger carpet, but they are very expensive. In order for my first graders to focus on their learning, I need to meet this basic need which will then in turn have the domino effect on other areas of learning being met as well. I also have put some extended sensory and social emotional learning activities to further support my students during this global pandemic. There are many more areas of need other than academics during this time in the world that is being thrown at us, and I would love for some extra help in supporting my students who are much deserving with how they are exceptionally handling life right now and exceeding in every aspect.
