Students will have new books to enjoy in our class library that appeals to their interests which includes manga (Japanese comic books) and Greek mythology. New leadership positions, class librarians, will be created through our new library technology including the scanner, date stamp, and library cards. This will build students' independence by allowing them to check out books at their own will with the class librarians help. This will also keep our class organized and neat for students to find all items easily. We will use the magnetic letters during our word study time for students to work together to build word patterns to grow in spelling which helps them be more successful and confident as writers. All these items will help my students learn relationship building and leadership skills like working together, playing fairly, and having appropriate social interactions that includes being respectful and kind to others. These skills are so needed after the many months that students spent with mainly family and not their peers during quarantines and distance learning. The students will continue relationship building through fun activities during inside recess and free choice Fridays with the playdo, guess who game, and painting. These items will also help students express creativity in the classroom. The storage containers will allow students to find activities easily, clean up quickly, and take pride in keeping our class neat and organized.
