In today's world students spend less time participating in physical activity resulting in an increasing frequency of childhood obesity. Covid-19 has only compounded this fact. 2020 was a year where children where removed from school, and told to shelter in place at home. Physical activity was already at an all time low and covid-19 protocols have made it even worse. Furthermore, fighting obesity is quite difficult, and the most common problem is non-compliance with obesity treatment. The way to facilitate compliance to obesity treatment; regulate nutrition, increased physical activity, and provide psychological support. Diet without exercise can result in fat loss as well as, a loss in non-fat body mass. However, adding exercise improves weight loss by maintaining non-fat body mass, and it provides a significant reduction in mortality. Regular physical exercise is an important factor in regulating body composition during growth. The materials I have chosen will make weight training a more accessible form of exercise and is intended to affect the motor power and performance of individual students. Frequent weight training coupled with aerobic forms of exercises are meant to enhance compliance with obesity treatment. This project focuses on the basics of exercise therapy, which is extremely beneficial for both healthy and obese children.
