During our independent reading time "Daily five" is a big part of our 90-minute reading block. Students are engaged in independent reading, listening to reading, or reading to someone. All of which enhances students' literacy skillset. The rug and bean bags chairs will give them a comfortable place to read. All students enjoy and deserve a cozy and comfortable place to read that enables them to personally connect to literature through their imagination or just having a quiet, relaxing, comfortable area in the room where they can better comprehend what they are reading. It is my hope that a classroom area rug and bean bag chairs will provide that learning oasis for storytime and independent reading.
