There are a number of ways basketball can be beneficial for students. One is simply an escape. Taking time from anything that can cause stress can help alleviate it. Another is teamwork. Seeing people actively working together and towards the same goal can build trust off the court. Lastly, though more could be mentioned, is the value of practice and dedication. Seeing students achieve a personal goal that was set by themselves in the light of setback or failure is an "A-HA" moment at its finest. And confidence gained by perseverance lasts a lifetime.
