Throughout the pandemic, band directors have had to get very creative with ways to teach students music and how to play their instruments. One of the ways we give instruction is by having them practice and record playing assignments at home on their personal phone, Ipad, chromebook, laptop, etc. The music we assign them to practice and record is typically music we are working on in band and/or other practice exercises. After they practice and record their assignments, they then upload them into our Google Classroom where we can give advice and constructive criticism. It is a very new, innovative, and practical way of offering instruction; and it has been very beneficial. Getting this iPad would benefit a lot of students who do not have this technology or internet services at home. Students would be able to check-out this iPad and do their assignments from here at school or home. Currently, we do not have an iPad that students can use. This would greatly benefit MANY of my students and provide an opportunity for these students who do not have sufficient technology at home.
