Sixty percent of our students come from low-income families with close to 30% ELLs; therefore, simple items such as Clorox wipes or tissues become a necessity. Teachers are constantly using their own money to keep up with such needs. Items such as pencil grippers will help several students who are still struggling to hold their pencils. The crayons, erasers, and pencil sharpeners are items that students need for all areas and in our classroom: we do a lot of hands-on activities integrating art in all subjects. I also chose some prizes for our positive reinforcement monthly store.

About my class
