Reading can be such a difficult task for students who have not been able to stay connected with virtual learning in the past two years. Many students have not read independently and therefore have not grown at the level they needed to stay on grade level. Allowing students to work together to create a drama from a story, such as a fable, gives students the chance to help each other. It is wonderful to watch students create, build and develop their settings and costumes to perform their dramas for their classmates. Friendly competitions develop that make students want to strive to outdo their fellow classmates and work harder. Students will work in groups using the charts to develop backdrops and dialogue for their dramas. The beards, fabric and animal ears will inspire students to complete their costumes in fun, creative ways. Having markers and supplies to develop their stories will keep students interested in their creations.
