My students are learning how math is used in their daily lives. My 6th graders are also learning Algebra at an early age. As the learning moves more to an abstract level, we are working on problems with larger numbers and multiple steps. Having a calculator on hand helps students solve difficult and more challenging problems easier and faster. The calculators we currently have in our classroom are not very durable. We need calculators that are better quality than what we currently have available. Also, each student needs access to their own calculator without having to share with a classmate.
