My students currently have desks with open, metal under them. Their books are constantly slipping through the metal slats and falling on the floor. The covers of the books are torn off for most of the students. Now the pages of the books are getting torn off as well. Having these new desks will protect what is left of their school books. It will save the students from having to get on the floor several times a day just to pick up everything that has fallen out of their desks - yet again. Having desks that keep their books safe will help students focus on learning instead of trying to find ways to put things in this open type desk that ultimately doesn't work.
