My goal for this project is for students to have more opportunities to practice and apply the skills that are being taught in the classroom, as well as to have more opportunities to work independently at their own level. The items I have requested will allow each student in my class to do so. My goal for my students this year is growth. The "Trace and Write Alphabet Center", "Write the Letter Activity Center", and "Learn the Alphabet Dough Mats" will help enable each of my students to grow in their writing and letter formation. These items will also allow each of my students to practice their letter/sound recognition and even build and read words! The "Number Sequencing Puzzles" will allow all levels of students in my classroom to work on sequencing, recognizing, and counting with numbers. This set of puzzles is differentiated, so students at each level (working with 1-10, 1-20, or 1-30) can have the opportunity to practice and be challenged as they work with their numbers. All students in my class will be reached through literature with the "Building Literacy Library" and the "Word Family Readers". These collections of books will help me to introduce the various literacy skills that are taught throughout the year. Students will also be able to practice recognizing rhymes, produce rhymes, and complete rhymes as we read together. Whether it is being more comfortable with recognizing letters, making gains on writing letters/words, being able to count further/recognize more numbers, making rhymes, or reading words; I am excited to see all of the progress my students this year (and for years to come) will be able to make with these additional resources in our classroom.
