When technology is integrated, my students are engaged and excited to learn! Due to COVID-19, many of my students have fallen behind or are unable to attend school due to sickness. Having a blended classroom helps me work in small groups with my students so I can teach them, catch them up and support them best. A blended classroom means I need my students to be working on technology devices while I am also providing small group instruction. Having these headphones and iPads will provide my students the opportunity to work quietly by themselves without distraction. Headphones with microphones will help achieve a higher depth of knowledge as well as the ability to explain thoughts and processes. Technology produces engaging, collaborative, and critical thinking opportunities for students and teaches crucial skills to be successful in life. By giving students a choice of seating helps them have control over their environment. It gives them the sense of ownership. It turns into "our" classroom rather than "my" classroom. I want students to feel empowered and safe. Using flexible seating in the classroom that students feel comfortable in will encourage them to stay engaged, safe and productive. Flexible seating improves focus. Students who struggle staying focused are able to use the wobble chairs to focus on the work they are doing.
