Flexible seating allows my students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them during independent work times. They can sit at tables, under tables, under their desks, or sit or lie on the floor. The floor chair I selected will give one of our students in a wheelchair a chance to join the other students on the floor to complete independent work or to read a good book. The bookshelf I selected will also help store our engaging hands on stem activity sets and magazines. My students love when I change things up and they love when things are put away neatly and easily accessible. To help my students learn amid the pandemic, I would like to document my students by taking pictures of them while they are doing something they love as in sharing their ideas with the class, reading a good book, or playing their favorite sport. I selected a picture printer so I could print the pictures I take of their learning journey to commemorate this crazy year during the pandemic. This will help the kids and their parents to focus on the positive, happy moments. My second grade students have small ears so the earphones we have don't fit their ears very well so they have trouble staying focused on their lessons while they are working on their iPads. New headphones will fit them better and they will use these daily to access their online supplemental reading, language arts, phonics, and math programs while in the classroom and at home on distant learning. My students in my class are very active and talented athletes. I have selected news balls so they can engage in physical activity and to help them improve working together as a team.
