Scientific calculators will be an incredible asset to our classroom as we connect mathematical problem solving with technology. In light of the challenges of COVID-19, some students do not have the means to purchase a personal scientific calculator. Providing students with a classroom set of calculators will help everyone to engage in mathematics in the most enriching way without limiting anyone who cannot purchase one themselves. In 10th and 11th grade math, if we can help our students understand how to use scientific calculators, they will be more prepared to be successful on the ACT, in Concurrent Enrollment and Advanced Placements classes, and in college.
