Each year when we build upon a skill that was taught the previous year, I am not only impressed with the students' progress but also their ability to coordinate within their groups to gather and set up their PE equipment. I am pleased to see how the older students recall how to properly use equipment or the various ways we use it. I recognize and appreciate that students have a sense of ownership in our classroom and care for our materials. In addition to growing our skills, our students have also grown in confidence and are willing to “try” new games or learn a new sport skill. Maintaining our equipment is important not only for the students physical fitness and skill development but also for developing positive character traits. At this time, I am looking to replenish our equipment.
