I want to provide a space for my students to feel accepted and excited about learning. Many of them come from difficult homes where they are lacking stability and support. I want to create a safe space for them where they can feel confident and loved. My classroom will be warm, inviting, and inclusive, the same feeling you might experience while you fondly cuddle up to read a book at a bookstore in the rain. I want to embrace their different cultures and backgrounds and support diversity. I plan to incorporate aspects of their home countries and languages into my classroom so they will feel involved and appreciated even after only recently arriving in the United States. Your donation will help fund a map and globe for our classroom, where students can mark their home countries. Pillows and a chair will be used for flexible seating so the students have options of where to work. Plants will hang in the room to improve the atmosphere and make students more excited to come into the classroom every day. In addition, your donation will provide new office supplies for the classroom so students will be able to spend their time in an organized, uncluttered environment with their work quickly graded and returned to them.
