The books in my project are 4th grade level books that we can read together as a class. My students are excited about reading and I'd love to give them the tools to do just that. What I'd like to focus on with this project is whole group novel reading instruction. I want to work with my class to break down the sections of the book rather than just letting them read on their own. There are benefits to independent reading, as well as benefits to whole group instruction. My goal with this project is to focus on filling in the gaps from their Covid-19 school instruction with instructional reading.
