These tools and materials will be used to help students achieve their goals. The use of play and age appropriate activities, allows for growth and development. This will allow for improved participation in both curricular and extracurricular activities. As students play, learn, and grow, they gain a sense of achievement that will foster intrinsic motivation to continue to do and grow. As per the American Occupational Therapy Association, it is a child's "job" or "occupation" to play to develop physical coordination, emotional maturity, social skills to interact with other children, and self-confidence to try new experiences and explore new environments.
