By having these materials students will be provided with a thrilling, unforgettable hands on approach to learning about predators and prey. This project will allow students to think deeply about the animals in the ecosystem they live in. This directly relates to students learning on biomes, ecosystems, and consumers, producers, and decomposers. Students will be dissecting owl pellets, and by doing so will figure out what kind of prey was consumed. This information will allow students to make connections with owl habitats as well as the prey that are available in their habitat. Once finished with the dissection, students will identify the prey the owls ate, compile their data using a graph, generate a investigable question and use the date to answer it, write a report, and display it on a poster for the rest of the school to observe our findings.
