My wonderful students come from homes where reading is not always emphasized or they have access to books. I have tried in my classroom to create an environment rich in books and learning. I want them to love reading and have positive associations with time spent in a book. I would love to have comfortable places for them to read, where they can enjoy immersing themselves in a good book. I have also requested nonfiction books that are aligned with our third grade curriculum. We do informational essays and the books I selected will make their research easier and give them more books to choose from.
