Imagine a group of nine students. These nine students all started their educational journey in a self-contained classroom of students with Autism (eight students, three or more adults). Some were unable to speak or eat when they first joined our school. Today, they're mainstreamed into general education classrooms of over 25 children! I am a SETSS provider for nine first and second grade students who are dispersed amongst four general education classes. These ten students have made amazing progress over the years! Their disability, however, requires more intensive remediation which I provide throughout the day in small group sessions.
