As a veteran teacher, I understand, if children are hungry, they may not be able to focus on the lesson that is being taught at the time. Some of my students have to eat at school, because food is scarce at home. Additionally, any students do not have basic necessities for class. Hence, I have always shared whatever food and supplies, I have in my class with students. If children has a healthy snack, they may be able to focus better in class and the students’ attention won't be focused on being hungry. I continue to assist students with their basic needs. I have always placed emphasis on teaching the "whole child".
