My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in reading. Like everything else, Education is changing and so too are my students. My students are rarely given the opportunity to leave their community, and as such who they look up to can be very limited. I like to instill in my students that they can be their own superheroes and write the future they want for themselves. The Students in my classroom like to read about superheroes and some play games where they can play these heroes. With the use of a laptop, I would help my student write and record themselves as they see in the future. Using the form of technology, I could capture their stories and allow their families at school as well as home to get a glimpse into their heads. I would be able to edit and give the background that suits each child's outlook and bring life to their dreams. Those students who struggle with spelling and writing will get a chance to be heard as I have some very good speakers. They can be clear when verbalizing without feeling readers will often pick up a comic book because they feel left out. Those students who are very good a drawing and also showcase their talent with video editing. All my students will be actively involved in their own learning. Visual storytelling is one way for my students to see themselves how I see them and start to believe in the “impossible “. Digital storytelling is a gateway to better reading skills for reluctant readers and pulling out those students who have talents and interests elsewhere. My students will love to tell their stories.
