These new books will help build a classroom library that expands cultural awareness and brings new literature into a diverse classroom. I want to be able to offer a variety of literature as a new teacher in hopes that every student feels welcome in my classroom. It’s important for students to read books that they can relate to and that also showcases other cultures. Not every student is able to find literature they can connect with, by providing additional choices in my classroom I’m hoping to showcase other cultures and encourage my students to branch out in diversity.
