Many of my students have recently arrived with only what they could carry. Their families are trying to work and get their footing in a new country. They were not able to bring many books in their native language with them. Having these kindles to download ebooks in Portuguese and Spanish will keep them connected to their native language and culture. It will also help them to continue to develop literacy skills that will transfer to their learning in English. Please support these kids who are adjusting to their new home.
