Students in 3rd grade are learning about the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design. Our goal is to use mixed media sketchbooks to keep notes for each theme, adding to them each year, and will incorporate creative prompts and exercises to practice each new and related skill. These sketchbooks will follow each student in art as they move to 4th and 5th grade to build on their previous learning. It will also encourage students to make sense of their world through a deeper understanding of these themes. At the end of their elementary career, they will be able to take home a sketchbook that shows their learning over time and how their creativity has flourished!

About my class
