My goal is to provide a calming space for students who are emotionally dysregulated. If my project were funded, it would provide me as a new school counselor with the ability to build rapport and help students work through various complex traumas. One of the most important aspects of therapy is providing a safe environment so students can feel comfortable enough to discuss aspects of their life they would like to work through in order to be a healthy individuals with coping skills and healthy boundaries. These items will allow me to build rapport and work through particular issues that students have been facing, such as trauma, inattention, defiance, impulsivity, anxiety, and depression. If this project were to be funded, then I would be on the right track to being successful with these students.
