My students are more engaged when they are working together. They collaborate and stay on topic. These tables will allow them to have more space while being able to work together. Currently, we have to move around desks for group and move them back for independent work times. My students have a choice in seating, giving them these options helps them to be comfortable and motivated. Students should be comfortable in order to stay on task. They make good choices and ask peers for help. Tables will help my students sit lower. The desks are too high for 1st graders.
