The specific weaving materials will be used to instruct students in the techniques of weaving as an art form. Students will be weaving and sewing their pieces into an article of clothing. Our students will be studying the African art of weaving the Kente cloth - Our goal for each student is to learn about the history of West African textiles and how it relates to modern day clothing and design. Students will be designing their own royal garment using weaving techniques and materials in collaboration with our Social Studies program.
