I am starting in a resource room position in an elementary school. Currently, there are limited items available to use to help support sensory needs in the classrooms. I have added items to my project, such as adapted seating, a variety of visual timers, and fidgets that can be used by students within resource room time as well as general education. My students also need access to high-interest level readers. As a teacher, I love the Ready to Read books because they are age-appropriate with decodable text. These books take high-interest topics or themes and create a book that is accessible for my students.
