At our school, we do not have a theatre class. It is however, with great joy, we have now cast our 10th show! This year's show is Willy Wonka, Jr. and is full of some of the best students in the building. They are giving up much of their own time to pursue this passion. Donating to our project would accentuate the talents and hard work that these students have put into this magical show! We are looking to DIY many of the props, set, magic, and costumes, but we need materials to make that happen. It is my hope that the 50 or so students involved will be able to see themselves within many aspects of this show. We need costume pieces (such as socks, ribbon, buttons) for Oompa Loompas; there are some pieces in there that will dress some of the golden ticket winners as well (such as an inflatable suit, German lederhosen)! We can't forget that Wonka is running the show, meaning he will have many costume changes with hats, aprons, and more! We are stocking up on batteries--this will make some of the magic happen (including microphones). We have a few items on the list that will be part of some DIY backdrops (with balloons, ribbon, the awning) and props that our students will be able to create on build day in January. This set of items is not comprehensive, but it is a solid start!
