Many of my students have fallen behind significantly in the academic arena during COVID. But what was abundantly clear, while learning online, is that they spent a great deal of time coding no matter their academic level. Computers will be a part of this generation's future and having a place in the classroom where they can see their coding come to life will give them the inspiration they crave to be successful. The major part of my project is to allow students to bring their coding experience from Humanities into the classroom by having a coding center, including Teq SparkFun Inventors kits, where they can see their hard work and creativity come alive. When they are not working in the coding center the flexible seating will give them a comfortable spot away from their desk to read comfortably in the reading center or master their multiplication and division skills while working independently with the interactive self-paced flash cards.
