These games will be used in small groups to help the students master beginning sounds, medial sounds, and ending sounds in words. They can also be used by students individually for remediation of particular skills. Using these games will help the students with their phonemic awareness and will help them practice blending and decoding words. Once the students master reading these smaller words, they can apply what they have learned in order to become master readers by the end of first grade and hopefully develop a lifelong love of reading!
