The 3rd graders in my classroom are excited to be at school and in-person. They love readers workshop, and are craving new titles that pair with the strategies, and units of study they are learning. 3rd graders have exciting units of study in reader's workshop. Some of the units we focus on include mysteries, reading to learn-nonfiction work, character studies, and fantasy. My classroom has books in all categories, but these texts have been passed down from various classrooms, and are on their last thread. Although we have a book hospital, many are beyond repair. There are many new series, and book titles that spark interest for these voracious readers. Due to the pandemic, these kids have not had access to fresh new titles, or book clubs. New books will definitely spruce up the classroom library, and enhance learning.
