During the time of online learning, my students really had to have a strong sense of intrinsic motivation to succeed. With working parents, a lack of Wi-Fi availability, and a lot of personal challenges, my students had to push themselves stronger than ever to be successful Now that we are back in person, our students desire the extrinsic motivators that they were missing from school for the past 18 months. They went from treats, stickers, and treasure boxes to virtual praise and virtual high fives. As great as that is, now that they're back, they are craving the good ole days. In middle school, they no longer want stickers. They would love some LEGO bricks, slime kits, and all the other things that middle-schoolers think about all day. Please help me reward my students for all of the tenacity they've shown during these rough times.
