I work in an inner-city school and most of my students require basic tools for learning. A key tool my students need is a calculator. Most of the topics we cover include computing (finding area of shapes, percent's of numbers, unit rates, etc.) where we focus on understanding the process of how to get the answer, the actual computing is secondary. With a calculator for each student, classwork and class time will become much more efficient which will allow students to cover more material and have a deeper knowledge and understanding of the concepts we cover.
