FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION team 2486, the "CocoNuts" are responsible for organizing and running the entire FIRST TECH CHALLENGE program across Arizona. When the program started in 2009 there were only 8 teams located in Arizona. During the last 12 years, we have grown to nearly 100 competitive teams throughout Arizona, impacting well over ten thousand students! In order to host an event and run a qualifying tournament, we need to officially score the competition using hand-held tablets that interface with the scoring computer. Because of the growth of our region, we need to run multiple tournaments during the same weekends and therefore we must duplicate our technology needs. By donating to our project you will not only help offset the cost of the CocoNuts needing to purchase this additional equipment, but you will be supporting a FIRST ROBOTICS program impacting thousands of students across Arizona and supporting STEM education. The team will be able to focus on delivering a high-quality program aimed at improving STEM education and not fundraising to ensure program delivery.
