I teach 3rd - 5th students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They learn best through lots of visuals and a multi-sensory approach that they can use in the classroom to be actively engaged and be successful. Also, they love to listen and watch on educational videos using tablets to stay on engaged and learning. Children with ASD benefit from visuals to aid in language development and learning (SS.K.9). Programs we use include: Starfall and Letter School which are both available on the iPad. Currently, we don't have any working tablets that allow for the touchscreen function. An iPad would allow them to practice their skills in an interactive way.
