After working at home for over a year, students have really gained knowledge of using Chromebooks and computers. Coming back into the school this year, the special education students are learning that they can get help with spelling and grammar when writing (ELA W.9-102, L. 9-10.2-10.2C, L.9-10.4C) by using their Chromebook, however they are also using textbooks in the classroom. Their desks become overwhelmingly crowded and hard to utilize all the books, handouts, and Chromebooks needed for their day. When I see the students trying to work at the small desks we have available for them, I feel they could work better, be more organized, and with less stress if they could have a clamp-on Chromebook desk clamp. A clamp-on Chromebook holder for the desk would give them a tool to hold the Chromebook at a useable angle while also being able to work in their textbooks. This way, they can look up words, type answers, write essays while referring back to the literature presented in the textbooks.
