I teach at a low performing school, one aspect of the literacy program we are working with is to present students with a broad range of reading options. In Harms Way is the inspiring story of the men of the USS Indianapolis and their goal to stay alive after being torpedoed by a Japaneese submarine. The sharks that circled the men of the Indianapolis, circle my students daily; many face choices to do drugs, leave school, or give up. This book will inspire them to learn more history and to never give up!
