Headphones will be used for reading practice during daily class activities. These tools will be used during RTI periods. RTI is a state program that provides individualized intervention for students who are below grade level, on grade level, and even above grade level. Studies have found evidence that headphones can also help students with sensory or auditory issues. Having a sound barrier can reduce anxiety and over-stimulation in students with autism and other medical diagnoses. If provided, the headphones will be kept in the classroom for years of use and will go to providing quality and differentiated learning to many students.
