Many of the athletes that play for me rely on school breakfast and lunches for nutrition, which tends to be carb-heavy. They often do not get adequate protein which assists in muscle growth and repair. Proper amounts of fat will help with brain function and the right types of carbs will help sustain energy. A nutrition pantry will also allow me to teach my athletes adequate nutrition for sports or life, which is a lifelong skill. Protein drinks and snacks can be expensive, and I would like to be able to provide them to my athletes at no cost.
