My school purchased a computer-based program that includes formative assessments to measure students' academic progress. The product I selected will allow my students to access these measures, record their weekly performance, and track their rate of learning over time. Additionally, with the Surface Pro, my students will learn how to create goals based on their grade level national norms, and they will create graphs as they document their progress. When my students monitor their own progress, they tend to perform better over time. They also develop intrinsic motivation to reach their maximum potential. Furthermore, the Surface Pro will be used by my students to practice different academic skills (e.g. decoding, reading comprehension, math facts, etc.). The learning activities will be rehearsed in small group settings or by individual students. As a result, the use of the Surface Pro by my students will support their overall foundational academic and technological skills.
