I am requesting a 3D printer and filament to learn mathematical concepts through manipulatives that we can create together! My students would be thrilled to take part in designing and creating materials that they get to use in class! The possibilities are endless with a 3D printing machine! We could make manipulatives for every unit. Base ten blocks are essential for learning place values and decimal numbers. There are numerous ways to represent fractions with tools made with this machine. We would use to to create geometric shapes and tools to measure and for measuring! On a field trip, my students were able to see a 3D printer in action and they were absolutely enamored by it! I cannot express how excited they would be if we had one in our classroom!
