Anxiety is high this year as our students transition back to full-time in-person learning. Many mental health concerns have gone untreated for the past year and our kids need school to help support them through these challenges more than ever. My goal is to help students work through difficult moments and help them get back to class to continue their learning. Fidgets are a helpful way to help kids work out their anxious energy and they can even use them as a tool in class so they can better focus on class content. In addition, I'm trying to make my office space more comfortable and soothing for students as they work through a crisis. Our school chairs are not especially comfortable, thus the request for a saucer chair. My hope is that incorporating a comfortable space with help students regroup and get back to class.
