It is okay to feel negative feelings! This is something we need to teach our students. Things will not always go the way we want. We have to learn to feel those negative feelings and when we do, what to do with them. My students would have a chance to learn to regulate their emotions and their behavior that may come along with them. Rather than lashing out at peers or running around unsafely, the students can go to a quiet safe place. Within that safe place they will be able to meet many sensory seeking needs with the cozy ball, weighted snake, and other sensory items.

About my class
